Course 1500: Ecommerce Store Creation
This course will step you through the creation of a Yahoo! store whether you choose to build your online store using the Store Editor or Yahoo!’s SiteBuilder. Detailed instructions are shown with screen captured simulations followed by the opportunity for you to follow a soundtrack to undertake the tasks. It is broken out into the following modules:

Module 1510: Starting Your Own Yahoo! Store
In this 16 minute introduction Andy explains how to go about signing up for a Yahoo! ID and password. He explains the intricacies of the merchant solution packages, acquiring a domain name and a merchant account. He also gives a brief overview of the Manage My Services page.

Module 1520: The Store Manager: An Overview
Andy helps you get comfortable with the Store Manager screen and it functions. He covers the Edit function, the Process function, the Statistics function, the Order Settings function , the Site Settings function and the Promote Function. You are given the opportunity to explore the Store Manager with Andy’s soundtrack as a guide.

Module 1530: Building a Yahoo! Store
In this module you learn to start building your store using the Store Editor. You will explore the two interfaces of the Store Editor, the regular interface and the advanced interface. Andy helps you to set up your home page and explains how to create sections and listings. You are given the opportunity to create your home page and a section with Andy’s soundtrack as a guide.

Module 1540: Customizing a Yahoo! Store
This 40 minute module explores in more detail how to make your store different from others. You will examine the use of Yahoo!’s templates and how to customize your store using the Edit bar, reorganizing buttons and use of the Look, and Layout buttons. You will also examine the Regular Interface Variables in depth. Again you have the opportunity to undertake the tasks with Andy’s soundtrack as a guide.

Module 1550: The Advanced Interface
This module is an in depth look at the variables of the advanced interface that are different from the regular interface. This is where you will learn how to place your meta tags so that the search engines can find your store. Andy also explains some new control functions that allow you to configure the editor to do different things.

Module 1560: Yahoo! SiteBuilder
Yahoo! offers, free of charge, a very good site building tool called Yahoo! SiteBuilder. If you choose to build your store using this software rather than the Store Editor you will need to follow along with this module. Andy explains how to download and use the software to create an index (home) page, and how to add images, text and navigation to your section and product pages.

Module 1570: The Catalog Manager and the Store Tag Hub
Whether you decide to use the Store Editor or Yahoo!’s SiteBuilder to build your online store, you will need to understand the Catalog Manager and the Store Tag Hub. This module will be invaluable in helping you understand how to catalog your products and how to include the tags that are necessary for search engine optimization and order processing.

Module 1580: More on Yahoo! SiteBuilder
Once your home page, section pages and all your product pages are complete you need to link them together using the Navigation Bar. This module explains how to add a section page to the Navigation Bar, add a Navigation Bar to a page and how to create image and text links to make it easy for your customers to move through your store. It also explains other functions of Yahoo! SiteBuilder that have not yet been covered.

Module 1590: Open For Business
Finally Andy explains the steps you must take before you can open for business. He also covers order processing in this module.

Course 1600: eCommerce Store Marketing
Once your online store is built it is critically important to promote your store so that customers can find your store and buy your products. The eCommerce Store Marketing course is not yet complete but we consider the information contained in the three modules that are complete, so important that we decided to offer them as individual modules while the rest of the course is in development. He gives tips on how to get indexed and ranked by the search engines. Andy offers guidance on how to further your study of this complex and vast subject.

Module 1660: Marketing Tools: Pay-Per-Click Search Engines
In this module Andy explains how to use your marketing budget to the best advantage. He explains how to use Overture (now Yahoo! Search Marketing) and Google-Ads as well as the differences and advantages of one over the other.
