Stunt Mania : Available Files
This section will be up to date in one sense, but not so in another. This is the page dedicated to publically consumable goods, so will be updated with new files when new features are completed, but will not constitute a running commentary on whatever tweaks are made day to day.

Source code & Microsoft Windows executables are available. To use any of the Windows executables, you will also require the SDL DLL. This simply needs to be unzipped to the same folder as the executable.

SDL DLL file [92.9kb]

The source code is intended to be ultimately platform neutral, but in the short term may contain the common 'small' errors - mostly related to #include's - i.e. is included, what isn't, and probably some incorrect capitalisation. Please bare with me!

3DFX Owners!
For the voodoo 1 at least, the 3dfx OpenGL drivers are not sufficient since they seem to ignore the call that allows Stunt Mania to get away with planar polygons (specifically glPolygonOffset). It is highly recommended that 3dfx owners instead use the MESA 3dfx driver, since this not only functions correctly, but with increased speed. Provided here is a prebuilt version for 3dfx cards. In order to use it with Stunt Mania, it should be extracted to the same folder as the executable. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DO NOT REPLACE THE OPENGL32.DLL IN YOUR WINDOWS\SYSTEM FOLDER WITH THIS FILE!

N.B. although still not the most recent, this is a more recent version of MESA than that previously offered on this page. I believe that the previous version will not work with the current Stunt Mania release.

Mesa 3.2.1, compiled for 3dfx support [336kb]

05/07/2002 Release
The third release! Now features scenery interaction and quite a few extra track pieces. Please do not assume that .dat files from the last release will necessarily continue to function.

Source Code [28.0kb]
Full package for Windows users (exe + SDL DLL + data files + an example track file) [663kb]
Windows executable only [30.9kb]
Data Files [547kb]
An example track file in the legacy format [585 bytes]

06/06/2002 Release
The second release - terrain is now textured, some of the track details appear, and object data is sourced from external files. Notice that the texture & object files are required to run the program regardless of whether you download code or executable version.

Source Code [9.12kb]
Windows executable [22.7kb]
Texture & Object Files [39.0kb]
An example track file in the legacy format [306 bytes]

22/05/2002 Release
The first release, showing terrain only & with no texturing.

Source Code [2.69kb]
Windows executable [4.48kb]

3ds files
I have exported all of track objects I have so far from the Stunt Mania internal format to 3ds, so that those of you who might want them for any reason can use them, and any artists thinking of helping out can get a running start. Notice that translucency information (i.e. the parts of the track you can partially see through) may not be correct for now. All textures are included. Please email me if you try these and tell me how you got on!

This is the second attempt at this conversion, uploaded on 10/09/2002.

3ds track objects [503kb]
