Demand that abuses on families be stopped

Hey Kids

Don't let what you see on this website make you afraid to get help if you're being abused.  The system has a lot of flaws in it, but that's all about to change, and even right now there is help for you.  A lot of help.

Here are some links:

  • National Runaway Switchboard - They have an anonymous message board where they answer your questions.  Lots of info.  Check out their links page, too, for some very helpful websites.
  • Boys and Girls Town
There's some information on this website, and they have a hotline number you can call from anywhere in the United States for help or advice

If you are in danger or are being abused and you need shelter right now, call 911.  Even if you're in a foster home.  If you can, do this from a friend's house so that you are safely away from your abuser.  Tell the 911 person that you are being abused and where you are and to please send an officer.  That's because sometimes if you call a hotline, they will try to tell you that it's not that serious, or it might take a few days.  If you call 911,  they must send an officer right then.  Never hesitate to call 911 no matter where you are if someone is abusing you.  The police will help you.  Tell them you need shelter.

As soon as I find more information I will be putting it on this page.  If you have anything to contribute, like ideas, links to helpful information, etc., please send an email to protest@DontTakeOurKids.com
