No Hope
December 12th, 2006

During a season where generally there is nothing in the air but hope for peace, joy, happiness, love, etc., the Rams find themselves in the world of football without any hope. The Bears made sure of taking any last glimmer of hope they might have had going into this game. All gone, a completely and totally wasted and embarrassing season. Even after Bulger tried to shame them into believing that they were playing heartless football, nothing changed.

They say change is good, but it's obvious what little change that came to the Rams this season didn't change a thing. Nothing good has come out of hiring a new coaching staff, nothing good came out of bringing in the likes of Corey Chavous, Will Witherspoon and La Roi' Glover. Absolutely nothing good and nothing changed. In fact at times things seem to be worse. A team that started off fired up soon became a team that completely hurled their own selves over a cliff like blind lemmings following the crowd and leaping to their inevitable death and destruction.

The city of St. Louis has completely turned their backs on the team, and that began long before this fiery desent, the love affair that was once St. Louis and the Rams is now just like jaded lovers who will probably never find a way to make things work. All the pretty little packages to make amends and promises to do better, to do whatever it takes to make the relationship work will more than likely fall on deaf ears of fans who were fickle to begin with. It's like a bad divorce that just keeps on ripping out the hearts of all those involved.

And then there are those fans who are like the children of a set of divorced parents, who love their team so much that it tears them up so much inside to see them in such turmoil, such pain and filled with so much confusion on what is going to become of all of this, that they are still willing to withstand all the pain, all the fallout from it all. They will stick with them to the bitter end and will await anxiously for the next season and be there with open arms to welcome them back into their lives and into their homes, in hope that one day things will be brighter and filled with joy and excitement.

GO RAMS!
