No Demolition - No Evictions:

Justice for Trinity Plaza Tenants

Trinity Plaza Apartments

Angelo Sangiacomo, the owner of Trinity Plaza and known as the "father of rent control" in San Francisco, is planning to demolish the building created by Del Webb. For decades, Sangiacomo has sought to evict senior and disabled tenants from his properties.

Trinity Plaza is located in the heart of Civic Center at 8th and Market Streets and consists of 366 rent-controlled units that are low-rent, affordable housing for over 500 tenants. The demolition of this building would permanently displace working people, seniors, immigrants, students, families with children, and disabled tenants who call Trinity Plaza home. Like many of my neighbors, I've been residing in the building for more than 10 years; some of my neighbors have been here for more than 20 years; one 80+-year-old tenant has called Trinity Plaza home for more than 30 years. Sangiacomo plans to replace these affordable homes with one of The City's largest-ever housing developments consisting of over 1,400 market rate units aimed at young single and married couples earning over $75,000 a year.

Please take a minute and click one of links below to sign the petition to help save our homes -- for PC users, a new window will open; for WebTV users, after you finish signing the petition click the Back button to return to this page.

I ask you all to forward the link to all your friends worldwide. While our cause is more of a local issue, if the San Francisco Planning Department see how many caring people there are worldwide, it will tremendously help in our cause to save our homes.

If you would like more information, please contact the Trinity Plaza Tenants Association at 1-415-864-1031.

Thank you very much for your support. My neighbors and I greatly appreciate it.

Ken Werner
