Initially physician prescribed him moderate anti-diabetic tablets but as the situation get worsen he was switched on to stronger tablets. Moorthy had to interject 20 units of insulin daily to check his blood sugar level. As he was a critical patient of diabetes he was required to say good bye to the Dunlop job which required greater touring & become an inactive stockbroker.
Nowadays regardless of immense workload and heavy schedule the Moorthy can have the sweets without increasing his blood sugar level above 185 mg.
Moorthy's lifetime link with the insulin syringe would have remained unabridged if a young industrialist, P.N.E Balaram had not presented him a herbaceous tablet. P.N.E Balaram had been producing the pills in a corners of his manufactury in The small place Thrissur, Kerala and giving them a beneficial way to the patients of diabetes.
