Tiffani Amber Thiessen was born on
January 23, 1974. Tiffani was born and raised in Long Beach, California,
USA. She is the daughter of Robyn a housewife and Frank a park designer
and is a middle child with one younger brother named Schyler (born 1977)
and a older brother named Todd (born 1968).
Tiffani Thiessen has virtually grown up in front of the camera. A familiar
face to television audiences, and most recent she wrapped up the season
finale of the new FOX TV series Fastlane. Her big acting break came in
1989 when she landed the role of popular cheerleader Kelly Kapowski on NBC
series Saved by the Bell.
But her career started earlier, Tiffani first appeared in the spotlight at
the age of 8. It was her uncle Roger Ernest a former actor and
screenwriter, who suggested she try modeling and acting and she did and
soon she was appearing in both television an print ads. Her first
commercial was for The Peaches and Cream Barbie Doll. She was disappointed
with these assignments because she could never hold the Barbie doll;
instead she had to hold Ken and the other girl featured in the commercial
got to hold Barbie "I guess I wasn't blond enough " Tiffani
said.
Shortly after these commercials she began entering beauty pageants. In
1987 Tiffani tried her luck in the Miss Junior American Pageant which she
won. " I would never do another one, " says Tiffani, "but
at the time they were fun." After this experience she wasn't exactly
the most popular girl in school. She claims to have had only a few close
friends while in grade-school and that kids would, "Write horrible
things on the wall about me, and I don't know why." Her best friend's
name is Candice who says that she used to "Protect her from all the
mean kids in school. Yeah, I beat um' up."
Her role on Saved by the Bell as Kelly Kapowski lasted for several years.
On her Saved -buds, "I grew up with these kids. It was just like us
at school having fun. We were best friends for years." She says the
worst thing Kelly ever did on Saved, "She cheated on Zack and then
broke up with him to date a college guy. That was probably the worst thing
she ever did in her whole LIFE." But all good things must come to an
end and in 1994 NBC cancelled the comedy series now entitled SBTB: The
College Years.
In 1994 Tiffani got cast in Aaron Spelling's popular teen-drama Beverly
Hills 90210 as the conniving vixen Valerie Malone. "I was in Vegas
doing the last episode of Saved by the Bell when I got a call from Aaron
Spelling [the series producer]," she recounts. "So I met him and
screen-tested with two other girls who were up for the part. After the
audition, I was walking to my car and suddenly heard my name being called.
I'm like thinking, 'Who the fuck is calling me?' I look up and Aaron is up
on the third level yelling, 'Congratulations, welcome to the show.' That's
how I found out, having him yell down to the parking lot. It was really
cool. If you work with Aaron and he likes you, you'll always work for
Aaron. And believe me, that's not a bad thing.! She stayed on the show
until 1998 when she left to pursue a movie career instead.
The result were two independent movies called Speedway Junkie and Love
Stinks in 1999, followed by the Ladies Man and Shriek if you know what I
did last Friday 13th in the year of 2000. In 2002 Tiffani starred in Woody
Allen's movie Hollywood Ending where she plays the onscreen actress Sharon
Bates who tries to seduce her director played by Allen.
In the fall of 2002 Tiffani teamed up together with Peter Facinelli and
Bill Bellamy in FOX's new action/drama series Fastlane a hip
pastel-colored hybrid of The Fast and the Furious and Miami Vice, overseen
by Charlie's Angels director McG.
